I am a lifelong artist and part-time illustrator. I'm also proud to be born and raised on a horse and cattle ranch in Sparks, NV. In school my subject of choice was always art and still painted while working in local banks, Savings and Loans, and while at the RSCVA. In 2002 I decided to become a full-time artist. That's when I chose Art d'Rector (a play on my last name) for my painting business.
I joined IDAL (the International Decorative Artisans League) a professional organization for those of us in the faux finishing and decorating field. As a member I attended specialized training classes to grow my business.
In my twenty plus years as a painter and faux finisher I have used numerous mediums including:
In 2002 I worked on an 11-unit "Little Berkely" apartments in Reno that allowed for great creativity. I illustrated the program cover art for four years of the annual Reno's Snaffle Bit Futurity's and the New Years' Eve Buck N' Ball. I produced artwork in several area businesses including scenes of Italy in Sonny's Pizza and Pasta, and Chicago murals in Windy Moon Pizza, and custom terrace scene in hair salon Tresses by Twins. I have done numerous murals for Home to Heal a place to heal and renew the spirit...just to name a few. I have samples in my home studio to share and photos of past artwork and would love to sit down and discuss your upcoming projects.
